Amazon today has the 64GB 2021 Apple TV 4K for $99.97, down from its original price of $199.00. This is a match of the all-time low price that we previously saw on this model over the holidays.

Only the 64GB 2021 model is on sale on Amazon as this time; we haven't tracked a deal on the 32GB model since around Black Friday. For the 64GB device, Amazon is providing delivery estimates between January 25 and 26.

64GB version is $71 at Walmart if you can still find it.

32GB version is $59 if you can find it in-stock.

Don’t do it! This crummy old thing can’t even do karaoke! /s

Honestly unless they wind up artificially withholding more features this is probably the one to get, especially if you want Ethernet.

Same model used is $91.97 USD from Amazon warehouse. Both the 2022 3rd gen Apple TVs are still discounted, 64GB is $124.05 USD, 128GB is $144.95 USD.

$99.97 is interesting. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but the 97 cents at the end implies it's on clearance. They were rumored to release an update Apple TV soon, right?

Edit: Nevermind, they released the newest one in October. So it appears the 2021 model is on clearance.

The price doesn’t list it for $59. Is this something only in store?

Yes, it's in-store only. That's why I provided the brickseek link, so that people can enter their zip code to check nearby stores. Not all stores will have it for $59. A few stores near me showed $99 while others showed $59

You joke but I have a relative whose family has a long history doing karaoke (he’s got a laser disc player for it!) who got the new one just for the karaoke. Doing it with any song is a game changer.

But no that’s not normal 😆
My cousins are really into Karaoke so I was showing them Apple Sing on my iPhone 14 Pro and I was able to AirPlay it up to their Apple TV 4K 2021 and it worked beautifully. (Don't AirPlay the whole phone, but select your Apple TV in the Music app.) It fills the whole screen and I was able to use the phone to select new tracks. The only difference is that the words appeared on the screen in lyric mode instead of highlighting each word, but it displays that way on the phone. They already have a PA with 2 mics and this was drastically easier than searching for random Karaoke tracks on YouTube. Just make sure your phone is charged up because it sucked almost half my battery in just over an hour. The phone was noticeably warm so it is really working hard to strip the lyrics out. Anyone else interested should give it a try.

Was going to grab a few of the 2nd gen units to upgrade my 1st gens as a walmart I stopped in today still had a bunch of the 32/64 units for the above prices posted. held off for now.

I won't be being buying one since they dropped the optical audio output (S/PDIF or TOSLINK) the first generation 4K model had.

Why would I need an AppleTV when my LG TV already has all the apps built in? Seriously asking the question.
I ask the the same when my Samsung 4K TV has all the apps built in. AppleTV missing apps I want to use that are not available. Roku and Fire TV still the best option IMHO. AppleTV way overpriced to boot!

Nearly flawless Playback of (High Bitrate/Highe Profile) UHD/BlueRay Backups south of what the usual supects offer and having an Gbit Ethernet Port are one of the reasons I might could get one soon.

The Ethernet Port on every LG TV is only 100mbit and since it lacks dts support nowadays you can have issues with files using HEVC Level 5.1 and upwards. A kinda specific problem for those of us, who, in 2023, still have "lossless" backups of their media.

My AppleTV 4K 2021 does not compare to my Samsung Smart TV from 2020.

AppleTV is snappier, speedier.

I don’t need an AppleTV since I have the Smart features built into the TV itself but I can tell you that if all of a sudden my AppleTV went away, I most likely wouldn’t revert to using the Smart features on my Samsung TV, just cause it’ll be so much slower.

It’s like comparing car oil vs molasses.

Even a piece of Roku Junk is better than using the apps on smart Tvs
Very true.

My Roku TV with the built in software can actually handle Netflix and Peacock menus while the Samsung SmartTV software hiccups along the way.

I tried connecting a PlayStation controller to the AppleTV 4K and gaming but at the end of the day I only cared for the buttery smooth ease of use when watching movie or tv shows or YouTube vids.
