Hard pass. A heinous keyboard, stingy storage, the amount of RAM is not future-proof, everything is soldered and glued, and the price – even with discounts – is an egregious insult to even the most seasoned masochists.

These Macbook Pros are thoroughly detestable and shall forever live in infamy.

Timmy, mind your hateful pipeline.

Don't buy – big chance to get troubles with this "butterfly-"keyboard – earlier or (even worse) later and mind the gap (if you need to join the keyboard program for repair).

This keyboard is faulty in all of its 3 "levels":
1. gathering dirt till failure (the membrane is no real skelter, works like a funnel)
2. electronically instable (because the need of too narrow mechanical tolerances)

And: No ESC-key, no F-keys – a nonsense for professional work at all!

This nearly five years of Apple's inactivity was like a march through a vast desert for everybody who intends to buy a reasonable laptop by Apple!
Still you a forced to pay for this senseless advertising gag called "Touch Bar" – Touch ID would be far enough ;)

What's about the court cases?! Nothing heard in between... the biggest Apple scandal IMO over the last decade :apple:

That's right folks! Go ahead and "save" money on the POS version of the MBP that has the crap butterfly keyboard!!! It'll fail on you within 6 months or at least not be fully functional!

All while Apple is getting ready to release the 13 inch model with the ever-reliable scissor key model.

You'd be foolish to buy this model now with the known bad keyboard, low configuration, and a new model coming out in a couple of months.

$1500 for a laptop with
  • a keyboard with mean time to failure of 3 months (MTTF)
  • an unergonomic keyboard
  • poor thermal design leading to performance throttled to a 10 yr old CPU
  • max fans when watching YouTube at 1080p
  • damaged adhesive due to overheating
  • no GPU
  • 10-day repair times
  • £750 "topcase replacements" warranty timebomb
