Apple just announced the discontinuation of the iPod touch, and with the end of this product's lifecycle you can expect to see stock quickly begin to dwindle at all retailers. For this reason, we're highlighting the last best deals you'll find on the iPod touch.

Amazon has the 32GB iPod touch in Space Gray for $184.00, down from $199.00, and that's the lowest price currently available and overall the second best price we've ever tracked. All other colors can be found priced at $189.99.

The 128GB iPod touch is available for $289.99 in Silver, down from $299.00. This is another second best price, and only Silver is seeing this markdown on Amazon at this time.

There is currently no deal on the 256GB iPod touch among the major Apple resellers online, but stock is already beginning to dwindle for many colors on Amazon. Remember that once all of these iPod touch models sell out on Amazon and at other retailers, the only other place to purchase them will be in used condition from third-party resellers like on eBay.

Be sure to visit our full Deals Roundup to shop for even more Apple-related products and accessories.

You can get an excellent condition used or refurbished iPhone SE (2nd gen) with 64GB for around $200, $300 for 256GB.

iPhone SE (2nd gen) has a larger and brighter screen, A13 vs A10, runs all the latest iOS (vs. 13.x), bette cameras, and of course, cellular should you need it.

iPod touch is cuter, more pocketable, and possibly a collector's item.

The iPod also has a headphone jack.

Definitely had a good run, a bit sad to see it going.

Was really hoping they'd have rev'd it another time and given an option with wireless (like an iPad), add the normal stuff you can do with a iPhone wallet etc., but no phone number (so no spam phone calls the carriers can't seem to stop for some reason etc.).

This might become like what the original Homepod has become, selling for nearly 2x original price on eBay years after it was discontinued.

Only time will tell, considering how popular they used to be.

Wow, I didn't know that. The last Apple products I remembered having that kind of demand were the Mac Mini 2012 Server and the original Firewire iSight camera.

My thoughts exactly. No reason to me that anyone needs an iPod touch.

The reason I quit buying iPod Touches, and I loved them at home because they're so handy, is because the battery lasts only about a year, and is absolutely impossible to replace with a fresh one myself, at home, like I do with my iPhones. I did send two back to apple for them to replace the battery, but all they did was send me a different "new old stock" iPod, with battery made at the time of manufacture, which was only good both times, for about another 6 months. And I think it was $100 for apple to do that.

So I just quit wasting my money and my time.

I've had mine for two years with no issues. Sounds like you either got unlucky or had some other problem.

seeing that photo takes me back in time when Apple used to update their iPod lineup frequently, like the iPod Nanos.
It was always fun to read the rumors about what they were going to do with the iPod next. I remember even further back when the iPod was rumored to be a Newton and then when the iPod was released, they said it would be a flop.

Something I’ve been contemplating for a while is buying a latest gen iPod touch for the sole purpose of controlling my Apple TV.

I don’t really like the Siri remote, so the remote app on iOS is what I use. However, a lot of the time, I want to put my phone on my wireless charger when I’m watching tv and to use a seperate device for this.

How long would the battery on an iPod touch last for just this function? Might not be worth it, but having an extra device to hand to visitors would be handy.

I tried this method out a few years ago with a used iPod and it didn’t last long enough for what I’m after

Oh man, I have to hurry up and buy these on the double before it’s too late.

That A10 processor from 6 years ago will be powerful and awesome for many years to come!
Seriously. I tried to milk some use out of my last iPod Touch as a household media player. It was so deadly slow I could barely get it to run Spotify. Definitely not usable for much at this point, unless you could somehow load iOS 6 on it or something.

And for the prices this article is quoting, you could easily find a much more recent second-hand iPhone and just use it on wifi without a SIM.
