Today we're tracking a massive sale on Apple's 2021 iPad Pro lineup, including up to $150 off the 11-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro. For many of these tablets, Amazon's sale prices today are offering the lowest discounts we've ever seen, or matching the previous record lows on each device.

We've collected every iPad Pro on sale this week in the lists below, including both Wi-Fi and Cellular models. All discounts have been applied automatically, so you won't need any coupon or code to see these sales. They're also all sold and shipped directly from Amazon.

It's also worth noting that the 12.9-inch iPad Pro Magic Keyboard in Black has returned to its all-time low price of $242.99 on Amazon, down from $349.00. However, the accessory is temporarily out of stock. You can still lock in this great deal today, and Amazon won't charge you until it ships.

I have some doubts that what Amazon sells are actually NEW iPads. I bought an iPad with cellular from them about five years ago, and when I went to activate cellular, they told me at the store that it already had a user made PIN associated with it.

Costco currently has a sale on the 11" & 12.9" iPads through 11/21/21. Bestbuy currently matches that 11" price on its website.

Good deal if you're looking for the iPad Pro M1 11" 128Gb for $699.99.
It's a good replacement for my iPad 2.

Waiting for the Apple Pencil 2 to go on sale.

Best Buy will do a price match in-store on all of these prices so long as it's listed as "Sold by Amazon."

Just bit the bullet and ordered a 12.9 256GB to replace my 2018 12.9 256GB. Arrives today. The compatibility with Magic Keyboard (Gen 1) and Apple Pencil 2 which I already own influenced my decision to go ahead and upgrade.
That was dumb. It’s no faster or better then the 2018 when using it. You will be returning it and saying no point since my 2018 is the same. Seen so much of this.

I'm going to upgrade my regular 2017 iPad to a 2021 12.9 iPad Pro 256. I wonder if we'll see any deeper discounts on Black Friday, but this does seem like a good time to grab the Magic Keyboard.

Thanks for sharing. Unfortunately MacRumors will never tell you that because Costco doesn't give them an affiliate kickback. :(

didn't someone say that Apple's online store will match prices, up to 10%?

how does that work? do I have to call them up?

thanks!

I just checked Costco's website. They have the deals there. I was in a Costco store a week and a half ago, and they only had the 256GB model, but at the same discount.

That's why there are posters who'll help others with some decent deals.

Costco has the iPad Pro M1 11" 128Gb on sale for $699.99 but many stores are sold out but is available online with a small shipping charge. The 12" models are also on sale. Model availability will depend on the store.

Bestbuy had the same 11" 128Gb model on sale for $749.99 up through this past weekend. A BB store manager matched the price to $699.99 when I showed him the Costco price so bought it at a decent price.
As of this past Monday, Bestbuy further discounted the price to $699.99 matching Costco's price along with the other models' prices.
Unfortunately, you can't buy Applecare+ afterwards at Costco as it must be bought with the device; Costco's price is $99 instead of the regular $129.

The 12.9" version would've been nicer with a bigger screen but is overkill as a media device and basic tasks like emailing, texting and online viewing and it cost a lot more ~$300.
Not everyone has that kind of money to spend.
It's not necessary if you already have a laptop for productivity work.
The 11" version is more than sufficient for most and should last >5 yrs +.

Here's an issue with Bestbuy...
The manager at that BB store in Nashua, NH said that Bestbuy would match Costco's (and any other warehouse store's) price IF the prices were advertised online for non-members.
So if the prices are shown on Costco's website without logging in as a member, Bestbuy would match that lower price. Same applies to the other warehouse prices.

That isn't listed on Bestbuy's website for its 'Price Matching' policy.
Guess BB was losing money by further price matching to the warehouse stores to implement the 'unwritten' policy exception.

Waiting for the Apple Pencil 2 to go on sale.

I just checked to see if our local Best Buy had any 12.9 iPad Pro 256GB models in stock at the sale price, and I snagged an open-box unit for $1,000! I put in an order for the on-sale Magic Keyboard on Amazon, and I'm also getting the Apple Pencil at Best Buy. This combo will replace my 2015 MacBook Pro. I have a 27" iMac for the heavy lifting.

From a developer’s perspective, as of November 2021:

An iPad 10.2” is worth $499.

An Amazon Fire HD 10” is worth $329.

The extra $170 premium on Apple gets you:

- iMovie
- GarageBand
- Photos
- Messages
- Calendar
- Notes
- Camera

If all you do is browse the internet, listen to music, watch movies on Netflix and play casual games, you don’t need an iPad. Fire HD 10 is a near identical experience, for those things.

Fire HD is a luxury brand, but the prosumer software from Apple is why it’s priced much higher.

For reference, an iPad Air 2 was $499 when it was released in October 2014.

Seeing how iPad Air 2 runs iOS 15, the $499 price range sounds right for iPad 10.2” 9th Gen (2021).

It’s a 7 year device.

Wait, wait, wait!

Why are we knocking down the prices of the just-released iPad Pro models? That has NEVER happened in the history of Apple, so why now?

I’ll definitely not be returning it. For the difference in cost after trade in, it’s worth it. I won’t feel the need to upgrade for several years. The screen and RAM alone are nice upgrades. Notability, which I use everyday had frequent app refreshes. A shame because you are right, there is little difference in operating speed, but the 4GB of RAM on the 2018 was too little given the CPU/GPU performance.

In 8 months, the iPad Pro 10.5” (2017) will be 5 years old.

And in 7 days, the Apple Pencil is turning 6 (November 2015).

I bought my 12.9 2021 pro on Amazon and it was brand new, sealed in the box.
