B&H Photo today has a few deals on Apple's M2 Mac mini, marking some of the first notable discounts on the device since it launched in January 2023. Both deals are only available on B&H Photo as of writing, and the retailer offers free expedited shipping in the contiguous United States.

Starting with the 256GB M2 Mac mini, this model is on sale for $549.00, down from $599.00. This beats the sale price found at retailers like Amazon by about $30 and is now the lowest price we've ever tracked on this version of the M2 Mac mini.

Moving to the 512GB M2 Mac mini, B&H Photo has this model for $749.00, down from $799.00. Similar to the 256GB option, the 512GB M2 Mac mini's price tag is the best we've seen to date at any retailer.

Keep up with all of this week's best discounts on Apple products and related accessories in our dedicated Apple Deals roundup.

B&H Photo is my favorite place to buy both my photo equipment and my Apple Mac computers. Using their Payboo credit card instantly reimburses you your Sales Tax, which can save you big $$$. B&H also has great customer service based on my experience with them. Great news that Mac mini M2 models are being discounted by B&H.

This model is my 12-yo's first Mac. As one who has made a living exclusively on Macs since 1991, I have been blown away by the M2 Mini's performance! Way moreso than my so. Not that I've put it through its paces, but did watch him play Kerbal Space Program, via Steam, full fps, all graphics sliders max'd, and the machine seemed almost bored. 😜

Edit: It's the 512/16 config, btw.

Wish adorama would do $499 again. they offered the $499 (and $699 for the 512 GB) pre order, hope it drops again.

Military folks can get them for $100 off plus no tax at their base exchange. Biggest drawback is the inability to configure them, basically all base models with 256 or 512 HD.

I saw it on Amazon UK a couple of weeks ago for £585 (down from £649)....;)
It is currently at £599 (£50 off), but on long delivery.

Apple also has a 10% Military/Veteran discount so you can get a nice discount on a BTO model.

Exchange has no sales tax though... I bought a 2011 mac mini $100 off tax free at MCAGCC 29 palms exchange back in the day.

I'm considering a purchase myself, but really think the base Studio will get an update or a better iMac. I mean for the Studio it's been 357 days and the iMac 669. I know the MacPro has been much longer, but I'm not looking to spend over $5k right now. I think we might have some good news real soon.

The M2 Mac mini has only been out 42 days and it’s already being discounted?

is this bad news for AAPL investors?

I doubt it. Probably getting ready for a tornado of M3 products. The iMac regardless if it stays the same or gets a larger version is in need of a refresh and the MacPro is way behind when it comes to Apple's M chips. So, I'd expect those 2 to get some refresh soon.

That white bezel bugs so much me on the current iMac. It blends well with the pastel like colors, but doesn't suit the Professional look of my office like the older iMacs. Great for kids and schools I suppose. But maybe we will see a larger one targeting a more office like environment. If they update the Mac Studio then I doubt they will give us a larger iMac.

Must be even worse, since it was $499 several days BEFORE it came out.

Jeebus, I dont get you 8 GB whiners either. (3 base M1s here) Have you actually used a base M1/M2 mac? Forget your intel mac experience. IMHO, 64 GB wasnt enough for intel macs. But 8 for M1s? Doing the basics? its happy.

They could always offer 16GB as the base and raise the base price by $250. The purpose of offering the 8GB as the base is to keep the base price point low.
Agree. The 8GB is a great entry level Mac at a phenomenal price point, especially at $499 through U.S. Education site.

I have the base 8GB M1 Mini and calling it "entry level" is a misnomer since it can easily handle dozens of browser tabs, some coding/development work, and light video/photo editing workloads, concurrently. It is easily better than any $500-600 Windows PC. I personally prefer my 16GB M1 MBA, but the base 8GB Mini can be a great choice for many folks with modest computing needs. No need to force everyone to pay more by making 16GB the base config. For anyone that hasn't tried the M-series SoCs, the chipsets are very capable with 8GB RAM. If you know you need more RAM then by all means get more. Just saying AS and 8GB is a really great foundation.
