Amazon today has the new 13-inch MacBook Pro (10th generation Intel Core i5 processor, 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD) for $1,849.99, down from $1,999.00. You'll need to add the MacBook Pro to your cart and head to the checkout screen to see the final discount, and you can get the notebook in both Silver and Space Gray at this price.

This isn't quite the lowest price we've ever seen for this model of the 2020 13-inch MacBook Pro, but it's a match of the current best price found online. You'll also find the same sale on B&H Photo, but stock has begun dwindling at the retailer this morning.

You can find even more discounts on other MacBooks by visiting our Best Deals guide for MacBook Pro and MacBook Air. In this guide we track the steepest discounts for the newest MacBook models every week, so be sure to bookmark it and check back often if you're shopping for a new Apple notebook.

I owned a MBP shortly when the new 10thGen’s came out. I had a problem (not an “issue”) with the keyboard not illuminating properly, so I returned it. I’m glad I never re-ordered it. Shortly thereafter, the Apple Silicon announcement came out. I will happily wait.

To be honest, I suspect many MR members never actually own a MBP, they are always waiting for the next one no matter what.

Guilty.

Been waiting for a reason to upgrade since 2014 but there’s just too many compromises.
Lack of I/O, Touchbar, Keyboard (which they finally fixed), lack of upgradability, reliability and QC issues were all reasons I haven’t pulled the trigger.

I probably could have dealt with two of those if the others weren’t present, but there’s too many reasons to not upgrade from my 2014 which is still running strong.

I wonder Apple is trying to boost (or minimise the impact of ARM to) its quarter/annual numbers. Refurbs achieve the same thing - though usually with a lower price to consumers - so if you want one but don't need one now, then maybe worth waiting for a refurb?

I don’t know, hard to swallow when an Arm MacBook is right around the corner with likely better cpu and graphics performance and likely way better battery life.

Still using my mid 2012 15" MacBook Pro. It's i7, I've upgraded the SSD and memory to 1TB and 16GB. Works perfectly, still. Upgrading to the 16" with 1TB of storage would not do much for me, except I would lose all my ports and any upgradability. A pro machine should be upgradable and should have a multitude of ports. I constantly run into clients with iPhones, iPads and Macs who are beyond frustrated with Apple's practice of removing ports they use, even if occasionally. "Goddammit, Apple," they'll say. "Goddammit, Apple," I'll agree.
