Today we're tracking a series of deals on iPads, including the 2022 10.9-inch iPad and the 2021 M1 iPad Pro. These sales can be found on Amazon and Expercom, and every deal has been automatically applied so you don't need any coupon codes.

iPad (2022)

Starting with the 2022 iPad, Amazon has nearly every model on sale for all-time low prices right now. You can get the 64GB Wi-Fi iPad for $399.00, down from $449.00, and the 256GB Wi-Fi iPad for $549.00, down from $599.00.

If you want a cellular model, both of these are on sale too. You can get the 64GB cellular iPad for $549.00, down from $599.00, and the 256GB cellular iPad for $699.00, down from $749.00.

Although all of these sales are only $50 markdowns, every one represents a match of an all-time low price on the 2022 iPad.

iPad Pro (2021)

At Expercom, you can save some money on the previous-generation 12.9-inch iPad Pro thanks to a few steep discounts. Expercom is one of the only retailers to discount the M1 iPad Pro in 2023, and although they are older tablets, anyone who prioritizes savings over upgraded internals should be interested in these deals.

This sale starts with the 128GB Wi-Fi 12.9-inch iPad Pro for $849.00, down from $1,099.00. Next, Expercom has the 256GB Wi-Fi 12.9-inch iPad Pro for $949.00, down from $1,199.00. In addition to 12.9-inch models, you can also save up to $220 on 11-inch iPad Pro tablets.

I see several things that happened here:
- People holding onto older iPads longer. 9to5 Mac recently linked to a survey about which Apple devices users would replace in an urgency and iPad wasn't that popular.
- The iPad Pro's and even the Air's are pricey for what most people do with them.
- iPadOS continues to be a polarizing experience considering how Apple is describing these as pro devices.

The batteries on my 2018 11 and 12.9 pros are starting to die quickly. I’ve been debating on getting a new model vs. waiting for the next evolutionary update. The 5 year old 2018 is still smooth and working quite well otherwise.

You could just replace the batteries if you find them to be smooth enough.

I don't know what Apple was trying to cater to when they priced it at 449, schools wont pick it up because its too expensive, owners of older iPad's will jump to the Air or the 9th gen, an A15/2nd gen pencil support at 399 would have boosted sales.
When people need an iPad on the cheap, I usually refer them to the 9th gen iPad still. The 2022 model simply doesn’t justify itself over the 9th gen. Comes off as a low-effort stopgap for people to just spend more on the Air or Pro.

Can't have Pencil 2 support with the landscape camera.

Apple increased the official prices a lot last year because they knew they would have to "discount" them to get them sold, due to market conditions.
Goes for all Apple products pretty much.

So people buying these "discounted" products aren't getting a good deal at all, this is the price they were meant to be at.
People are so easily fooled...

Target had the 11" ipad pro for $550 around Black Friday 2022. I picked one up. I love it, but honestly if it wasn't on sale, I would have been just as happy with a regular ipad (was replacing an old ipad Air and actually had the ipad 9 on order). I don't really notice the processor and screen improvements, and honestly the battery life seems worse to me. Battery life is really one of the most important features in a tablet.
