I’m confused. They have been 199.95 on Apples site the last couple times I’ve looked, it’s been a couple months. I just thought that was then new price but I’ve seen MacRumors post this $199.95 “Sale” a couple times lately.

Apple's price has been going up and down on these. I thought they were permanently dropped and then a week later the price went up again.

I just can't get over the big huge non wireless charging case. The fact that they have no real off switch is also a turnoff as If you have them in your pocket instead of the case, they can come out of standby when you move around causing battery drain. Thought about getting a pair for running season but all 5k's and 10k's are COVID delayed/cancelled.

I bought these when they first came out and returned them within the two week window. I was totally unimpressed with the sound and fit. They are also clumsy to carry and were not Siri compatible.

I’m on my second pair. The first never reliably seated and would be dead when I took them out of the case to use. The second pair is better. I think the PowerBeats 4 are probably a better buy. They have the same chipset, waterproof rating, and sound.

Yes, I found these things to be an issue too. The case is huge so I can't carry it my shirt pocket. If I take them off and put them in my shirt pocket without the case they often do come out of standby and start playing. So when I take them off I put them in the case and put the case in the backpack. Not ideal. Another thing that gets me is that if you don't seat one of them properly in the case it won't charge and will just drain to zero. Happened to me many times. There is no visual indicator so it's impossible to say if it's happening or not. Now I wiggle them every time I put them in the case. This mostly works but not always. All in all I liked my BeatsX much better in pretty much all respects. They were great till they suddenly completley died (I assume some wire got broken).

Meh. They stay in place better than AirPods Pro when running so they do what I need them to do. Sound quality is decent for the price.

I’ve been on a ‘headphone binge’ for the last week trying to find something that would fit me well, the AirPod Pros and a Galaxy Buds Plus I both purchased, ultimately the interior design does not work for me for ‘in ear’. I almost pulled the trigger on the Powerbeats, but I did read quite a few issues with quality control issues with the build quality, which is why I passed. I think beats is adequate for what they offer for the money, but in terms of long lasting, that seems to be a trend that they fall short on. I want the whole package in terms of quality hardware, Rich sound and adequate comfort, and Beats is missing at least one of those.

I bought a pair of these from B&H when they came out last year and returned them after a couple of weeks. My biggest issue with these was the sound quality. The lows are completely absent compared to my Powerbeats 3 and AirPods Pro.

I really liked the design of these and I really wanted to keep them. The biggest drawback from the Powerbeats 3 was the cord that connects both of the ear pieces and this design solved this issue. Although the ear piece wasn't as comfortable I enjoyed not having to have to push them back into my ears because the cord caused them headphones to come loose.

I may have gotten a defective pair but I doubt it. If you don't listen to music with lots of low frequencies I would recommend. Otherwise, get something else.

Quite surprised by some of the comments here. I bought a pair straight away... the sound quality is amazing. If its lacking bass, it's deffo a defective pair, or try push them into your ear deeper.

As for someone worrying about them turning on in your pocket and draining, that just doesn't happen, don't worry about that.

As for not seating them correctly in the case, that is something I can slightly agree with. Although they do have magnetic connectors, so I just find that you get close and they kinda fall into place naturally. But it has happened maybe once, where I went out, tried to listen and they were dead.

Bluetooth connection is my main gripe with them. Maybe 1 out of 30 times I wear them, they just don't connect. The only way to connect them, is to put them back in their case and then remove them again. But of course by the time I find out they arent gonna connect, I am already half way up the road, so I end up just accepting that I wont be listening to music that trip.

I'm shocked there aren't more complaints on these -

[stipulating: these are offensively 1st world problems]

I started with the PowerBeats3 corded - they were great but had to replace 1x (I thought the controls were waterproof) and they just went bad after a while. Didn't like the micro-USB cord and losing the ear tips all the time - whenever I would pull them from my pocket a tip would occasionally fly out never to be found rending them useless - like before a long flight. Sitting in a drawer.

When the Airpods came out jumped on those but they don't stay in my ears w/o the silicone ear tips rending elegance of the case useless. Gave them away.

Went back to standard corded earbuds while waiting for a better solution. Enjoyed the ease of use and not having to manage one more charging procedure.

Ordered the Powerbeats Pro as soon as they came out. Over the ear, use 1 or both, fast lightning charge - was the perfect solution. These are the things that are wrong:
  • Case size - fine for a purse but not pocketable at all. But enough capacity to go long flight or full day of intermittent use.
  • On that point - the mechanism that turned them on while in-ear, kept them on while my pocket depleting the battery fast disconnecting Bluetooth was not effective. Wish they had an on/off switch.
  • Charging - the magnetic interlock for charging is highly problematic missing the connection. There is a clever Bluetooth charging indicator on the phone (11-Pro latest updates) but it can often be unresponsive. The charge indicator led on the case will indicate charging when only one side is charging. So, ~1:4 times reaching for them one or both sides will be depleted.
Ordered Powerbeats Wireless them the moment the went on sale. Back to a corded model but with lightning cable charging and the ear tips look like the may stay on better. Just a few weeks into them but they seem to work fine.

BEATS - PLEASE make a combo of these phones - lightening to one then a jumper to the other for charging.

I searched hi and low on this site and surprisingly found very few posts on these pretty glaring design defects. I fell like I'm the only one who has these.
