Eufy cameras are great. I have several of them outside, connected to solar panels so they stay charged. They are expected to go a year without recharging. Sadly, this only happens if you don't use them.

I don't use indoor cameras. They seem kind of creepy to me. (I keep one turned off and charging in the garage. When I am out of town, I put it someplace out of the way in the house and turn it on.)

Have the floodlight model for backyard and just ordered solar for front. I like being able to not rely on another service and have them show up on my devices. Great price and havent run into any wifi issues that some have mentioned. Am hoping the future holds some matter related cameras and I will replace them eventually but for now they function as promised.

Might pick up a few more NanoLeaf bulbs. I switched from Hue & although I like Nanonleaf, I just wished they expanded the product line. It's pretty much panels, the light strip and A19 bulbs.

I have several Eufy outdoor cameras (forget the model but they're the ball shaped ones with the magnetic mounts they stick to, to hold them in place). The video they output looks excellent, so I like that about them.

These are wired, using an AC adapter with an long cord, so no batteries to worry about recharging.

I used to recommend them to everybody, but now I have more reservations. I had issues recently where they all started disconnecting and showing "offline" status, despite my wifi router indicating they were online and were issued valid IP addresses. In one case, I unplugged its power and reconnected it, and that got it back online. But 2 others required a total reset, removing them from the Eufy app on my iPhone and adding them back as new devices. Even then, one fell off the network again in under 24 hours and required a second reset and adding back as a new device.

From some digging on forums online, I found out this had happened to many Eufy owners and looks like it was the result of a firmware update they pushed that broke their ability to talk to Eufy cloud servers, needed to bridge them to their app. This is a bit disturbing, because these were sold as not relying on a cloud server (they save their video locally onto micro SD cards inside them). It looks like Eufy wasn't honest about that and if their servers/systems go offline, the cameras become useless?

I did the sourcefunding on the first generation of eufycams and thought they were great.....up until they released the 2nd gen homebase and camera setup that was homekit compatible right after the release of the 1st gen. As one would expect, 2nd gen add on cameras don't work with 1st gen base.
Anyways, I ended up going with a homebase 2 after getting a doorbell and have slowly added in additional homekit cameras. It's annoying that they don't have a camera that works with homebase and homekit. Oh well....I still like their stuff.

edit: My indoor homekit enabled cam will periodically go online/offline/online/offline for an hour or two at a time and its annoying AF. That, I suspect, is just homekit doing its thing though.

I've got about 10 eufy cams total, they're great, but some times don't work that well with home kit. Also, for their newest cams and homebase (Eufy 3's) there doesn't seem to be any homekit support (that I've found). So, seems like they're probably selling off stock of Eufy 2's.

Really wish they'd add homekit support to all their products and get it to be a little more stable.

My Eufy indoor cam is one of the best tech purchases made in the last couple of years, absolutely great, and inexpensive.
Is it possible to use Eufy cameras with HomeKit without using the Eufy app or making an account? I recently bought a Schlage smart lock with HomeKit support and I love the fact that I could set it up and am able to use it all within the Home app and I don't need to do anything on the software/account side with Schlage (nothing against them, I am just trying to slow down the creation of accounts for every this-and-that thing in my life).

I did set up an account initially, as it was prior to Apple introducing free cloud video whatever via HomeKit, but now I use it 100% through HomeKit. It's awesome. I think the only feature that is missing with HomeKit, or at least I haven't figured out how to do, is speaking through the camera to whoever is around. Most everything else(at least that I need) is perfect.

Can anyone confirm the Floodlight 2k actually *does* work with HomeKit? I have several Eufy cameras and I'm overall happy with them, but a lot of their newer cameras conveniently skip out on the HomeKit support. I'd love to get the Floodlight, but the page doesn't mention HomeKit anywhere on it, and the only mention I found at all anywhere was this Eufy support page that specifically says it isn't:

Yet it's listed on this post as one of the HomeKit-compatible cameras on sale. Is the post just mistaken?

We recently bought a house and I'd like to get some security cameras. Maybe you good folks can help me out with a few questions...
  1. How good is the Eufy integration with the Apple ecosystem? Can I get notices on my iPhone/iPad without having to open the app? I guess what I'm asking here is "How good is the integration?"
  2. The S300 and S330 both claim they have "BionicMind™ AI Differentiates Family and Strangers". How well does this work?
  3. Does anyone with the 2k version wish they had the 4k version?
Thanks!

This is trying to dump inventory to make room for “new” devices with Matter and/or Thread.

Nanoleaf has said it won’t/can’t update any existing products for Matter - so basically they want you to buy it again.

I'll never buy another Eufy camera. I tried them because they appeared to have a better privacy policy. They have fallen pretty far from expectations. Their mobile app incessantly advertises other products and services, with notifications, and I'm not convinced that they aren't slurping video feeds. Their hardware is decent, but like so many things these days the software and monetization strategies gut the utility of the product by making it annoying or violating privacy.
