Woot today is offering sales on refurbished models of Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro, starting at $1,874.99 for the 512GB model, originally priced at $2,399.00. This version of the 16-inch MacBook Pro typically sees discounts to $2,099.00, so Woot's flash sale today is about $200 under that price.

Woot also has the 1TB 16-inch MacBook Pro on sale today, available for $2,194.99, down from an original price of $2,799.00. This isn't only $605 below the regular price, but about $250 under common discounts seen on new models of this MacBook Pro, which are often around $2,449.00.

As with most Woot flash sales, these MacBook Pro models are refurbished and come with a one year Woot warranty, and they also come packaged in a generic white box. The deal prices will only last today, so be sure to head to Woot soon if you're interested.

Dumping of the 16" beginning? I am happy with mine, but will likely replace it with a 14" AS mac if that appears. The 16" is more display and size than I need.

Apple should do one more 16 inch with Intel Tigerlake to really end out the era of Intel. I am not surprised if Apple Silicon might be delayed with what’s going. Case in point the iPad Air with A14 not coming out until October as well as the iPhones.

Let’s say you could get a retailer to price match this, but with a new 16 MacBook Pro ... would it be worth the purchase, on an almost one year old machine?

Agreed. The 16" is nice but pretty big. The speakers and keyboard are the best things about it. As for the 13", the bezels don't bother me but it's more the underutilized space of that form factor needing a 14" display. I could live without the dedicated GPU inside if that size were offered.

Main problem is there is no tiger lake cpu from intel ready for ~45w macbooks. Only tiger lake for the ~28w 13" laptops.

According to this it's planned for Q1 2021 which might be quite late compared to when Apple silicon is ready:

I use headphones but sure the speakers are nice.

What I really love about this rig is that it’s the ultimate gaming machine

Woot "refurbished" is crap. They are not cosmetically perfect like an Apple refurb...

I always considered Apple refurbs to be like-new, but after watching a couple youtube videos you can see some Apple refurbs are pretty sketchy internally. Like re-baking/toasting of motherboards to get things working again...

Now i'm more inclined to just find the 10-15% off sales that vendors other than Apple has on machines (HH Gregg, Macmall, etc)
