Besides the bendgate issue, these are formidable tablets. I happen to own one. It DOES NOT replace a computer, but it is nice for reading, drawing and watching videos.

I want everything the pro has but it’s primary use would be in my kitchen..so I’m hoping new pros come out so I can pick one of these up for the cheap

There was No justification for the $150 base price increase.

This ipad pro 11 inch is slim fast and good looking but i purchased ipad air 3 cos of fear of that bend gate issue but now when i see so heavy discounts and many people saying that it doesnt bend i feel sad lol ( although my air 3 is awesome too )

Though the iPad Pro 2018 models are no slouch, it does not make sense to get one now as when the 2019 models are released with 6GB base RAM or more and hopefully 128GB base storage, the previous models will drop further in price. I suspect an October announcement, why pull the trigger now when it is only 2-2.5 months away from better.

I suspect an October announcement, why pull the trigger now when it is only 2-2.5 months away from better.

Even if this comes to fruition, imagine how long it will take for those new 2019 pics to drop in price to this level. It’ll be 2020, and then some poster will come along saying “why are you getting this iPad??? 2020 is just around the corner....” and the cycle repeats itself.

It’s is literally a couple months away, you really have nothing to loose and everything to gain. You may pay the present entry level price without the $150 discount on that model but you will get double storage and more RAM. While the 2018 models will drop further in price to get rid of the existing inventory. Plus let’s not forget a silicone upgrade and anything else we may not have thought of or rumoured about.

I know but i am happy with my air 3
It runs all latest games at 60 fps super smooth and good screen size plus is slim and have bigger battery that 11 inch pro

Hopefully these hit $500 in the next few months. Can’t see myself paying that much for an iPad, but totally understand why others would. Still a good price!

Then there is no reason to upgrade. iPad usually last for quite a number of years as it is a past-time consumption device. Very few people use it to create or other work related matters.

I am confused by your post. The Air 3 was just released and it has the same chip as the iPhone XS, XS max. The A12 chip the previous iPad Air's are the Original which used the A7 and the Air2 which used the A8X and was released over 4 years ago.

Apple dropped the iPad Air Name in 2017 when they released the 10.5 iPad Pro and then they rereleased several models that are just iPad in the 9.7 inch size.

I would think that if your iPad is running the A10 chip or later you will be supported for at least 2 to 3 more update cycles. The A8 Air 2 will probably be the next to drop support in one more 2020.

Possibly iOS 18-20+. Considering it has an A12 and 3GB of RAM, the device should be usable for quite sometime as it was released in 2019.

The issue was never the Ax silicone, it was the lack of RAM. Over the years Apple has added security features, co-processors etc. In reality those add to the core function on a smartphone or tablet, for example it does not make surfing with safari more capable.
