B&H Photo is discounting the latest 12-inch MacBook in a variety of configurations and color options, with prices starting at $899 for the 256GB model. However, the highlight of the sale is for the 512GB 12-inch MacBook, priced at $999 and representing the lowest-ever discount for this model among the major Apple resellers.

Discounts on the 512GB MacBook include the Rose Gold color option, which is now a retired color since Apple eliminated it in October 2018. Otherwise, all models on sale are the latest MacBooks with Kaby Lake processors, Retina displays, USB-C, updated keyboards and trackpads, faster SSDs, and more.

Note that the 512GB Gold is actually the 2017 Model, not the 2018.

Aren’t they the same besides the color? It’s the 2017 “gold vs 2018 “gold”, all else being equal.

With that said this sale has been going on for the last 2-3 weeks I have been waiting. Still trying to figure out if the kB is wroth the trouble.

An urgency is churning ... had you made your macbook user-upgradable, this would be a steal. But instead, you want to make your customers feel like a charity, a generous charity.

I'm not interested enough to look up the yearly spec changes, but I was going off this quote "...include the Rose Gold color option, which is now a retired color since Apple eliminated it in October 2018. Otherwise, all models on sale are the latest MacBooks with Kaby Lake processors,..."

Great deal, but I please not gold. I would jump on this if it were silver or space gray.

Wow, great prices. I paid full price for my 512 GB model, and it's been worth every penny. At these prices, it's a great deal if you're looking for an ultra-portable laptop.

I'm I the only person that likes the keyboard on the 2017 MacBook better than the "quieter" one on my 2018 15" MacBook Pro?

I like the louder clicks and feel on the MacBook vs the Pro.

I, too, prefer the 2nd gen keyboard over the 3rd gen for how it feels. I like the relative tactility. However the noise my 2017 MacBook makes when typing is too loud for places like the library.
