Dammit, why do we never get these sales in Canada?!? Not at BestBuy.ca, and Amazon.ca doesn’t even carry them.

I guess I’ll continue to wait for the 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage entree level iPad Pro 11” model for CAD$999 (US$757), plus further education discount, in the fall of this year or spring of next year. (Yes that’s wishful thinking.)

Prices are matched at Best Buy plus theres an extra $50 off for students. The entry level for $600 is such a good deal.

And everyone can get the "student" deal, just have to sign up with any email with or without a .edu address. Got the ipad pro for $774.

Already purchased it from BestBuy a few weeks ago for $675 (last sale they had). So, I'm not too upset at the extra $25 off. It's a great device (iPad Pro 11'). I waited for this design and feature set. Very happy with it.

Yeah!!! The biggest rebate we have on iPad Pro is $10 off at Costco

I'll upgrade my iPad Pro when the iPhone also switches to USB C.

I just picked up one, 5 months "used", and it is indeed annoying having a different charging cable, once again. I charge my phone almost exclusively wirelessly, but still annoying that we have yet another standard to deal with. I'm hoping USB C is the next and final standard for a long time to come, but I have a feeling it wont be.

On topic though, this seems like a great deal and I wish my two mother in laws that need new iPads would have used my new to me 11" Pro by now so I could suggest they each buy one now. I paid $650 for a 5 month old 11" Pro WIFI 256gb with Apple Care until January of 2021. It came with a Logitech folio keyboard (sold on eBay for $80) and an Apple Folio keyboard (sold on eBay for $105). I had to pick up a pencil though, hard to find a 2 used, so I went new for $110, a folio/case for $22, glass screen protector $8 and a longer USB C cable for $12. With eBay and PayPal fee's I'm still probably at $650 but now setup as I wanted. I already had an apple keyboard that came with my headless mac mini, also have a mouse but no mouse support until iOS 13. I'm running Luna Display ($56 used on eBay) to access the headless mac mini with the iPad but I'm having a lot of trouble with it through WIFI. Sometimes is brilliant and other times it says the devices are not on the same network (not possible). I don't yet have a USB A to USB C cable (on order), but wired wont be convenient for daily use.. The mini is older though, so I may have to upgrade it to use the upcoming sidecar with Catalina.

Upgrade when the base RAM is 6GB minimum. When the present base is the same as an iPhone, something is the matter considering there are photo editing apps available and usable on a tablet with pencil support.

Present iPad Pro is a sneak peak at the future, it was stingy of Apple to include 6GB RAM on the 1TB version.

How much does increasing the base RAM in large quantities costs, I presume no more than $2 or less when purchasing in volumes. Even NAND flash prices have dropped.

Huh? Shouldn’t the statement be that you will upgrade your iPhone when the iPad and iPhone are both USB C? Why delay the iPad upgrade?

I can understand his situation. As it stands right now, my iPhone is the odd man out with cables. My MBP, iPad Pro, Android phones and tablets, and even my GoPro's use USB-C while I still am stuck with Lightning on the iPhone. Not a gigantic deal but it would be nice to finally not have to chase down a Lightning cable from time to time.

If you're already keeping symmetry why change it until the inevitable happens when you can keep symmetry again in a year hopefully?

Maybe he has a lightning port iPad and doesn’t want to carry another cable?

that’s a steal, with iPad OS coming out, you’re getting a computer as fast as last years MacBook pros for 650.

Dang. The 1tb 12.9 cellular in silver is gone. I kinda suspect a pricing error... it was the same sale price as the WiFi only model.

$650 is the regular 2017 iPad pro price before they for no reason increased the 2018 to $799.

Stop pretending this is a good deal and call them out for this BS.

“For no reason” sure does mean something different to some people...

So paying $150 more to switch from touch id to face id and slightly trim the bezels is a big deal and good value to you?
Everything else was the same.
Oh and .5 inches extra screen..

Had they added OLED.. Okay, It would have kind of made sense.

I'm sure it means a lot to their bottom line..

I'm guessing he wants to upgrade all his accessories - batteries, cables, etc, from lightning to USB-c at once, rather than have two sets of wires everywhere he might use them.

Is still to much for the 12.9 64gb. Keep bringing the price down and I’ll purchase one.

What can you do with an iOS device with only 64GB? Use it as a sign? A menu? A kiosk? An eReader/web browser? Personally, I can't even fit my applications into 64GB, let alone music, videos, pdfs, data, photos, etc. Honestly, I thought the only reason Apple sold a version with 64GB (aside from having a low price to advertise) is for businesses that really do buy them to run one single app all the time. Like a flight book. Or a cash register. Or a menu... ;) . Oh oh ooo - or to show an advertisement video and pricing in the Apple store. :)

- Faster processor in both single-core and multi-core tasks.
- USB-C support. Sure this is arguable but the reality is more people than not view this as an upgrade. It sure is nice to be able to charge your iPhone with it if you need to, and this isn’t happening without the USB-C.
- Apple Pencil 2 wireless charging. This is huge from a usability and convenience standpoint.

Those combined with what you’ve already mentioned, yeah a pretty good value all things considered. Especially when you consider that this is easily the best single model upgrade they have done since going from no iPad to the iPad 1.

I know right?! It’s painful even when our dollar was close to parity just 5/6yrs back and still no deals. Very aggravating. Like you I’m waiting for the 128GB 6Gb RAM iPad Pro 11”.

I've always use my iPad for watching movies or to search for things that i may need.
