Best Buy today kicked off its latest discount event, marking down prices on MacBook Pros, Apple TVs, Beats headphones, and more for two days only. For students who don't mind purchasing last year's MacBook Pro models, Best Buy's new sale is particularly noteworthy since you can get as much as $350 off certain configurations and an extra $150 off with Student Deals.

I don't see any $500 deal on the Best Buy site... there are only five models on sale (took the link on the macrumors post)

The most expensive of the 5 have a $350 discount, then add $150 discount if you have a student coupon code. $500 total. Not that great a deal, though. I'd spend the extra and get the new 8th gen models.

For the first time ever, I haven't received the iTunes code in my e-mail within ten minutes. It's been almost an hour and a half since my order was placed. I know the eBay listing says it can take up to 4 hours for the code to arrive, but I've never seen it take longer than 10 minutes. Maybe they were hit by that Azure outage that occurred about the same time I was placing my order.

I ordered two and received both codes, but when I went to Redeem them in itunes they both were rejected as having already been redeemed.

I submitted a support ticket with Paypal but I'm not sure that's the proper place.

Edit: Nevermind. Clicking on a particular link automatically redeemed them in my account and iTunes never showed the updated balance. Later I saw my balance in a different app and it was correct.

Yea, the new quad and 6-core CPUs don’t make going with last year’s models as much as an obvious choice as in past refreshes.
