Verizon this week is helping soon-to-be iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro owners get ready for the smartphone's arrival with 20 percent off MagSafe bundles and 25 percent off MagSafe chargers. This follows Verizon's sale on iPhone 14 cases that began last Friday and remains ongoing.

Starting with the direct discounts on the MagSafe accessories, you can get the MagSafe Charger for $29.99, down from $39.00. The MagSafe Duo Charger is down to $96.74, from $129.00; and the MagSafe Battery Pack is down to $74.24, from $99.00.

For the MagSafe Battery Pack and MagSafe Duo Charger, these are the best prices we've ever tracked on the accessories. The regular MagSafe Charger is about $2 higher than the best-ever price we saw in the past, so it's still a solid second-best price.

Additionally, Verizon has a variety of MagSafe Accessory Bundles on sale for 20 percent off this week. For these bundles and the above accessories, Verizon offers free two day shipping and free returns within 30 days, and you don't need to be a Verizon Wireless customer to purchase these deals.

This wasn’t the preparedness I was thinking about. I’m hoping everything goes smooth with eSim on launch day, Verizon. That’s the first thing.

My 13 Pro Max last year came with an eSIM for Verizon and it was a flawless experience, no issues activating. So hopefully the same will be true this year when I get my 14 Pro Max. I actually wonder if my current eSIM will just port over to my new phone?

Well that’s the thing. I don’t want to interact with a representative to port over anything to another phone. If you’re already a customer with the carrier you should just have to go to their website or automated phone service with your phone number/password information and just do it yourself, with activation happening in mere minutes. But if you have to go to a store or be on the phone with someone then that’s going to piss me off

Ahhh, I thought you were already a Verizon customer. If you are not, I hope it's an easy experience for you come Friday. Sending positive energy your way. I can't believe Friday is almost here. :)

Lol I’m on Verizon prepaid because I use two iphones, more cost effective for me to do prepaid in my situation.

My AT&T experience always ended up with a trip to the local store. They always ended up putting in a new SIM, and it was just always a PITA. They tried to lecture me that 'I could do it myself', but the app didn't work. Now with the big 'V', and hoping it's actually easy to do it.

I really don't get the MagSafe for iPhones thing, unless it's an on-the-road kinda thing. And even then, it's WAY bulkier than the Lightning plug end.
1) Lightning receptacles can get pocket lint in them, making the connection intermittent and a PITA to clean.

2) MagSafe can give the iP a specific place(s) to live. Good device management, and can be especially convenient in a vehicle.

I use Qi chargers almost exclusively. I rarely plug in my device. No MagSafe needed.

In my car, I use a suction-cup base, ratcheting holder that securely holds my phone without obstructing the screen in any way. FAR more secure than MagSafe. Although MagSafe would be (slightly) easier to pop the phone on and off.

I just ordered one from Verizon... Verizon's online store experience leaves a lot to be desired. They offer Apple Pay, but it does not work. Neither did PayPal. They claim "Free 2-Day Shipping," they don't mention they'll charge you dearly for it (see: definition of "free").

I had none of these issues with Verizon’s online store yesterday. I paid with Apple Pay, got free shipping, and it’s actually arriving today (1-day turnaround)!

But Magsafe is Qi. I think the Magsafe idea was to make it easier and 'foolproof' to get the iPhone centered on the charger pad. I have had, in spite of my best intentions and desire, have had a near dead iPhone in the morning because it wasn't on its 'sweat spot' and incapable of being charged. Even after it chimes that it IS being charged. It's a mystery how that happens. So if Magsafe makes it easier for people to charge their devices, it has a purpose. And one can accessorize their Magsafe pucks. I got a marble stand from 12south that the puck sits snugly in and it adds some weight to keep the puck from being stuck on the iPhone.

To each his/her own I guess. I far prefer simply placing the iP on to a MagSafe magnet, rather than ratcheting it in and out of a holder every time. And the Magsafe also charges without needing to find and plug in a cable.

Effortlessly using MagSafe at my home office and auto locations has meant that I have never once plugged in the iPhone 13 Pro. The iP stays charged enough that I do not even bother with charging it at night, it just sits on the nightstand next to my bed. It would be easy enough to add a cheap MagSafe charger there too, but it has proven unnecessary.

And I just charge my iP on the puck at night. If I'm road tripping, I have a cable to jack into if needed and to help with playing tunes through the head unit (its primary purpose).

My wife, however, tried the Qi pucks of many kinds, and refuses to use them. She plugs in each night. Her reasoning is it stays charging, and it now has a tail to find it at 3 in the morning (and she does occasionally get calls like that. *UGG*). You do you...

Some like the complicated looking 'tree' combo chargers too. I'd think it wouldn't last long with me. *shrug* #YDY

I am aware that MagSafe is Qi.

And I agree, I like the positive connection thing, although I never had that issue once I hear the charging "ping". I bought a couple of magnetic floating combo stands (for iPhone, AirPods & Watch), and the phone always slid off. I assume that more expensive options had a stronger magnet, but at that point, why spend more when MUCH cheaper drop-in options were available (and I already had a reliable experience with them).

I guess I just don't like the puck. I hate to need two hands to grab my phone in the morning; I don't want the charger to come with the phone when I grab it.

In a car, the magnet would have to be EXTREMELY strong to hold the device securely, especially in the event of a crash. I really don't want yet another sliver of steel and glass flying into my family's face. A cheap, secure option works fine.

So really it's that I find MagSafe on the iPhone gimmicky, but Apple is good at making gimmicks somewhat useful for some people.

I just don't see ME using it; not the "wallet" (too easy to lose), not the puck (two-hand operation, bigger than a plug), not the car holder (not secure enough), not the home docks (too expensive for decent magnets).

Ultimately, I think MagSafe is simply a precursor for a port-less iPhone, and we're getting softened up ahead of time.

I think you're right on the 'port-less' future... I wonder if they would try to get rid of speakers too, eventually.

Yeah, the 'Wallet' seems a joke to me. I mean, if you want to lose your cards, and potentially have them zapped, go ahead.

Yes, MagSafe on the iPhone did seem like an odd feature, but, and maybe it's my puck, but having it not charge even after getting the ping is frustrating when it happens, but I get it on my Apple Watch too, and more frequently. 'How can it ping and show it's charging, and NOT CHARGE!?!?'🤷🏻‍♂️ But my nightstand, and desk have so many things on them that having a tail could clean everything off the top of them. :D:D:D:cool:

Haha, not me.

I'm a bit OCD so this is my nightstand, including the cheap charger with adjustable back, all Apple-white of course.

All my personal computing needs in one space. Amazing. (Doesn't include my PC work setup on my desk ;) ):

Oh my. You need to come declutter my house.

Daily...

Oh boy...

I hired a house keeper, and she showed up a total of . . . Twice.

Then I never saw her again. I thought maybe she got lost in my office, but alas, no...

I gave up after her. I even offered lunch! Wow, tough job I guess. This was also about 10 years ago. She didn't even have to do Windows HAH!!!

It's kind of funny too, because I hit a point in college where everything just went sideways. My desk at work suddenly became a heap. And my desk at home became a danger due to avalanches. I don't remember what happened, but it did. *sigh* (But I'm not a hoarder, I have a wife for that.😧😎)
