for people who like myself whos workflow revolves 90% around 32 bit apps (due to lack of updates or simply favoring older versions more) and rely on them daily....... what are you going to do about CATALINA?
i have been thinking of installing mojave on a VM emulation for my work programs..... and then having catalina for general use but idk seems kind of dumb but i cant think of a better solution.. i guess just never upgrad.e..?

Nothing. Who says it is mandatory to switch to Catalina at this time? Enjoy Mojave while you can. In meantime, try to adjust your workflow to more up to date apps. It is time to adapt or be forgotten in time...

You should tell us which Mac you have and what year it was made.

My personal "answer" to the Catalina/32 bit software "question":
DON'T upgrade beyond Mojave. Just keep using it for as long as it will run.

I bought a 2018 Mini for this specific purpose. I wanted a "late-model" Mac that would continue to run Mojave (and my extensive library of 32-bit software which I have no intention of giving up) into the future.

I figure I'm good for 6, 7, 8 years this way. Maybe even a little longer.

Of course, I'll keep a current version of the Mac OS handy on an EXTERNAL drive. I've been following the Catalina betas since the day they were first released.

But for my "main" drive, which does all my regular day-to-day stuff -- that's "Mojave forever".

That's my solution.
I have no need for "the latest and greatest", and I care NOTHING for being "up-to-date"...

I have latest 2019 macbook pro 13 touch bar base $1299 model

With Catalina in mind I purchased a MacBook Pro 13'' 1.4Ghz Quad core machine when they got released this summer with the specific purpose in mind to not update the OS. This way I get latest portable mac hardware (for now at least) and an OS that supports 32 bit apps that I use in my workflow.

I'm about to upgrade to Mojave from High Sierra and I plan to stop there.

I'm glad I read this, I was going to upgrade last night but decided it would take a long time. I have a few apps I'd miss even though they will be updated to 64 bit. I can wait until later.

The only app I really like to use still that is 32 bit is Picasa, believe it or not lol....it is best software to put keywords onto photos....

The iMac is going to stay on Mojave for now. Just wish there were a way to utilize the Sidecar feature without having to install Catalina.
