My previous experiences on iOS upgrades tells me to stay away and keep 5.1.1, but curiosity tells me to upgrade. I'll probably get a new phone soon anyway, but don't want to slow my current one down to a crawl in the mean time. In addition, I wont be able to get some of the new features anyway since its an older phone.

Thoughts? For those upgrading today, let me know your 3GS iOS6 experience.

Note that you will lose Google Maps on the 3GS if you upgrade. I know you can use Apple's Maps but most reviewers said it doesn't fully compare to Google's.

You'll get some nice things in iOS 6 though: shared photostreams, Do Not Disturb, Facebook integration etc...If those are worth it, you should upgrade, as people say the speed of iOS 5 and 6 are on par with one another (some said iOS 6 was faster).

Personally, I'm keeping iOS 5 on the 3GS because I'm getting the 5.
