Hi,
I'm moving in 3 weeks in a new house. It's a 2 story house. I asked the builder to put RJ45 cables almost in every room, including the 2nd floor.
My AEBS will be sitting in the basement of the house, where all the cables will go through a switch then the AEBS.
I'd like to extend the WiFi signal to the 2nd floor, and I'm still debating whether I need another AEBS (139$ refurbished from Apple Canada) or buy a AE. I know that the AEBS is a dual-band, which the AE is not. My plan is to connect the router to the RJ45 cable that goes directly to my other AEBS in the basement. That way, I will avoid extending a WiFi signal. I read almost every single review on the Web, but my issue is that I want to make sure that my signal is strong enough for the whole 2nd floor and enough to cover the outside of my house.
We have 1 iPad, 2 iPhones, iMac and a few other WiFi gadgets (XBOX 360, Apple TV, Blu-Ray, TV, PVR) and 1 laptop.
What do you guys think?
