OK, not sure what category this goes under, but figured OSX would be a good place to start. MBP running OSX 10.6.8...

When I first got the Mac almost 2 years ago, I had installed Carbonite because I was using it on my PC. I used it on the Mac for maybe a month or so and then went to local backups with Time Capsule. Today, for the first time (I don't know what possessed me to), I launched Console and found about 4000 error messages, all of which look like this:
9/22/11 11:58:22 AM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[154] (com.carbonite.carbonitestatus[1319]) posix_spawn("/Library/Application Support/Carbonite/CarboniteStatus.app/Contents/MacOS/CarboniteStatus", ...): No such file or directory
9/22/11 11:58:22 AM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[154] (com.carbonite.carbonitestatus[1319]) Exited with exit code: 1
9/22/11 11:58:22 AM com.apple.launchd.peruser.501[154] (com.carbonite.carbonitestatus) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds

Repeat and repeat and repeat....... How do I get this process to stop? Anybody have any helpful suggestions? Thanks!

Apparently you just removed the Carbonite software by dragging it to the trash. This removes programs, but not things that might reference it.

Probably when carbonite is installed it puts an entry in "startup items" Go to System Preferences -> accounts -> login items - there will probably still be an entry there for carbonite. just get rid of it.
