I'm in the market for an iPad Air 2, now that the price has been dropped by $100.00 I've noticed several retailers listing the new lower price as a sales price. Staples specifically advertises it as at $100.00 off, and that the sale only lasts a week. When I pointed out that it's not a sale, but the new lower price, the chat agent said he would pass it along but couldn't do anything. Just an observation I wanted to share.

Printed ads were created weeks ago. Their online ads and the ad I was just emailed says "select" iPads. Also the Price Protection then receive from Apple may not have kicked in yet.

So it isn't quite a simple as you think it is...

I was referring to online ads, of which I've seen many. Staples is the one I happened to highlight. B&H Photo is an example of a company that advertises correctly, for example.

Also, I didn't claim it was simple. But some retailers are clearly more honest than others.
