I am currently using a 2018 13" TouchBar MacBook Pro (QC 2.5ghz, 16GB Ram, 512GB SSD, Space Gray) which I bought last year for day to day tasks a decent amount of video editing for work. It still have apple care + on it for another 2 years. Due to the small screen and not wanting to deal with external monitors I went out and picked up the new 2019 15" with the 8-core i9, 16GB Ram, 512GB SSD, and 560x that is on sale for $2499. Also it would allow me to export video at almost 2x the speed, has better speakers, etc.
It looks like I should be about to get about $1700 selling my 13" and it will be about $2900 to get the 15" with Apple Care+. My only hesitation is the rumors of the 2019 16", but from speculation I think it is going to be way over $3000. The 2019 15" keyboard has noticeable improvements from the 2018. It seems to run cooler, and overall they worked out a lot of the issues from previous gens.
My question is what would you do in my position if you have the money? Again the main concern is that after spending an additional $1100 to upgrade, the 16" might be too tempting if the keyboard is significantly improved, it has a better isight camera, and I would most likely want to invest in a 1TB hard drive. What would you do?
