I'm trying to decide which to settle on for my purchase:

1/ Panasonic F3

2/ Nikon S3100

Both amazing cameras at amazing value... any input?

Thanks!

We went for the Nikon S3100 at the weekend (with nikon case and 4Gb card for £79 at Currys). Seems quite good so far. Very limited customisation options, speed is OK but not quite as fast as the Casio Z600 it is replacing. Zoom is quick to move in and out and focus reasonable. Colours are good, pretty realistic and not over the top. Nice compact size and the Nikon case is very nice with a small magnetic closure so no noise getting the camera out.

I do not remember which Panasonic it was we looked at (similar price as the S3100) but it was quite chunkier and the zoom was noticibly slower.

Hope this helps

Forgot to say, one other to consider is the Nikon S5100, this was actually my prefered choice but not available locally for us. If you are lucky a local Jessops will have one and it is on sale at £79.99, but the sale ends soon so go quickly.

All the best
