I'm currently using RAR Expander to decompress .rar files, but it's inconvenient and it only handles .rar files. Does anybody know any app that would work like the default ZIP decompress app? Like, right now I want to decompress a .7z file and I can't.

What you refer to is call "unpacking" or "decompressing" or "unarchiving", as decryption is used for calling the act of removing an encryption.

You can use The Unarchiver, it even handles .7z files.
Right, right. I knew "decrypting" was wrong but I couldn't think of "decompress". Anyway, I tried decompressing my .7z file with TheUnarchiver and it said that program couldn't decompress it. Which is weird because in the website it says it can.

If the 7z file is encrypted, The Unarchiver doesn't support those. You can, however, use the command-line tool called 7za to decompress it... there used to be a binary Mac build at krmathis's homepage but that page seems to have vanished.
