Is anyone else experiencing decreased battery life with the newest Watch OS? I downloaded it the first night it was available because people on here said it was much quicker (and it has been), but since then my battery has been draining much quicker than it used to. I'd normally end the night with about 30% left at 10 pm, but with no change in usage, I am not down to under 10% the last few nights. Right now, it's 7:07 PM and I'm at 17%.

I'm just wondering if others are seeing the same thing & if so, if they've found any ways to mitigate some of the battery drain (not sure if there is some new setting that's on by default or something like that).

All in all, I'm happy with the upgrade, but if I could get some of the battery life back, I'd be even happier.

I'm at 70% which is typical for me at the end of the day with previous versions of iOS.

Edit: Sorry, WatchOS not iOS.

I noticed a slight dip in battery life, as I do with other updates, but this one actually hasn’t been as bad as previous.

Thanks for the feedback guys. Sounds like its something unique to my setup & not an issue with the user in general.. I’ll play around with my watch to see if I can find anything that changed..

I was wondering if it was just me. The settings that I have it on, like always on theatre mode etc. usually give me two days or almost 2 days before I need to charge it but it’s been dying by the end of one night now. I’m getting one day instead of two. Drastically reduced battery life for me.

Ok. Glad to know it’s not just me. I just disabled all of my third party apps to see if one of them is causing the issue. Hopefully it’s just a third party app that isn’t working properly.

If you figure it out let me know so I can see if I have the same app LOL because this is really irritating

Battery life has dropped for me. I used to get about 3 days on my AW3 LTE leaving it in theater mode all the time. I charged my watch Saturday midday and last night I had 30% charge and by the time I got out of bed, it was down 7%. That's a 23% drop overnight. Also the weather complication has not shown data a few times.

Just an FYI that I still haven’t found a way to fix it. I removed all of the third party apps but the battery life hasn’t improved at all. I’ll update this if I feel Nd a solution, but so far no luck.

I've had a dip since 4.3.1 of about 10% less than 4.2.x etc with same activity and use pattern.

Was hoping that 4.3.2 might have fixed it but sadly not and have calibrated just in case too.

My battery life increased significantly. Last version update had my watch draining much faster. Now, though, my watch "overheats" while charging - I get a red temperature symbol whenever I charge and the watch gets really hot (not every time but, this is the first time I've ever seen it). But battery life is much improved however... :/

Came here to see if anyone else was having that problem, doesn't look like it.

Not sure what happened but today my battery life is back to normal. I removed all of my third party apps but that was several days ago and it didn’t make any difference. Now all of a sudden, battery life is back to where it was. Wish o could be more helpful but I didn’t change anything so m not sure how to diagnose the fix.

I have a similar "issue": my battery life shows 100%, even after actively logging physical activities that typically drain it 10-20%. It will go several hours on 100%. Then it seems to drain fast. I haven't noticed the heat issue on charging, but I'll watch for it. I came on here looking for something to explain the battery life. It is oddly comforting I am not alone. If it's truly at 100%, that's great, but I suspect there is more to the story.

Hi,
I've having issues with my AW0 for about two weeks.
I regularly got the whole day without problem and would set it to charge late at night with more than 20% charge easily.
Right now, it barely makes it after lunch. The battery has decreased from lasting about 24 hours to less than 12...
Hope you guys have any ideas...
Thanks
All the best.
RIC
PD. I've tried everything. Last solutions was unpairing and setting the watch as new but still doesn't work properly =(

I wonder if it could be a third party app that is using "Location services", using the GPS way more than necessary. Some apps, (Carrot Weather, for instance) needs location services to be on all the time to enablethe complication to give accurate weather reports. I'd say go check out under Privacy->Location Services, and see which one's you don't need on, or the one's that you can change to "When using the app".

Found my watch was using cellular today while out and about even though bluetooth and wifi were both enabled on my phone and watch. I had to disable bluetooth on my phone, then re-enable it to get off cellular. I'm guessing it was a bluetooth issue affecting my battery life.

I made the same experience. My batter was before update great. It was almost for two days good but now its almost done within 12 hours. It is so embarrassing. I’m really disappointed from Apple. I already told my wife not to update the software.

Yeah, mine has been draining a minimum of 10% every night since I've upgraded. It's very frustrating. It used to only be 3-5% drop.

mine has been smoking through the battery. Mane 6 hrs on a charge. Used to get almost three days on a charge. I’ve even reset it to factory. No good. ☹️☹️

I was having some battery issues a couple of weeks ago and couldn't figure it out. Last thing I wanted to do was restore the watch and chance losing my move streak. I deleted all 3rd party apps and the battery went back to normal. After that I just started adding them back one by one. I have a hunch it was my AutoSleep app that was causing the issue.
