Decreased response when music CD is inserted (10.15.7)

An icon used to pop up on the display (uppe r.h. region) announcing the CD's presence (the CD's name). This has stopped happening. Also, the app "dbpoweramp Music Converter" would boot up in response to the insertion . This, too, has stopped happening.

The CD can be ejected using the menu bar, no problem. And "dbpoweramp" can be run using the inserted disk, also no problem. Any help much appreciated -=- thank you!

If you have a relatively old Mac, you could be suffering RAM issues. This is the short term memory of a computer. I suggest restarting your computer
