Default background on log-in screen

Hi there, i dunno if this has been covered elsewhere, i did have a looksee searching around, couldnt find anything..

I would like to be able to change the background image on either of my 2 machines, tiger or leopard.. im assuming its relatively similar process. I know its possible, i have heard people talk about it before, but i just dont know the files exactly

any help appreciating muchly!
