Default Contact Photo Size

On a fresh install of iOS 11, when a photo is assigned to a contact, what size does it display when there is an incoming call from said contact --- small circular image beside contact name, or entire background?

I'm not sure after removing Sync.Me what the default behaviour is but I'm only getting small icons.
