Default Format Opener (app)

Hi, is there a way to open a format like mkv, avi, or mp3 format with a program and set it to default?

I've tried with open with -> other... ->Always Open With
but, that's only default for that file only.. So, is there a way to set all files with that format to open with a specific program?
example, all mkv open with vlc and all avi open with divx..

When you set the "always open with", click "Change All" just below that.

Right-click on a file in Finder and "Get Info". That's where you can change the default app.
