Default Image Editing?

Hello folks,

I was just wondering, is there a default image editor that I can use for mac? Something similar to Paint or whatever its called on Windows. I have an image that I'd like to edit (add circles and stuff).

There's no included alternative, but Paintbrush works pretty well.

preview can do some simple stuff, add circles text and so forth.
sketchbook express (which is free) form the app store can do a lot more.
