We're having a problem with our new XServe and XRAID 10.2.7 server system. We are having instances where people will create folders or files and will suddenly only have read-only rights to them. The default folder settings give drwrwrw user.group, so this shoudn't be an issue.

Also, we had one person take some files home to work on their own OS X Mac and when they brought them back, they were completely inaccessible except to the root user. Even then if I chmod'ed everything to 777 no one could access the files (except root). I had to make copies of the files in order for someone to access them. I thought maybe it had to do with the UID for the different accounts from machine to the next. Unfornuately, we're not using LDAP auth here yet so UID's might be an issue until we convert.

Has anyone else experienced similarly odd permission issues?
