Default Preview window size

hi all,

It really bugs me that Preview (& Pages & Numbers, for that matter) opens a window in the middle of my screen without maximising it to fit my screen.

Is there any way to set this my Mac to open windows that maximise to the size of my screen?

I'm not sure if there's a way to do this. However, all you have to do is hold down the Option key and click on the green button at the top left of the window.

FWIW, any PDF or image I open in preview shows the full document or image. Maximizing the window doesn't let me see more of the image at 100% scaling. The only options I know of that would affect the opening window size would be Preview > Preferences > Image (or PDF) > Define 100% Scale As... But that's still not going to do what you want (i.e. maximize the window to fill your screen).
