Default Printer Settings

Hello all,

Running Mavericks and a Cannon MX922 printer. For some reason the default printer settings use the 2nd paper tray, the one that is for photo paper, and I have an application that does not display the printer dialog.

So, is there any way to edit the default printer settings in Mavericks?

Try going to the CUPS web interface : http://lapserv.maths.cam.ac.uk/docs/osxprint108.html

that should give you access to the printer's settings, and allow you to change some defaults. Won't help on every printer model, but it may give you what you need to do.

From the terminal window execute:

cupsctl WebInterface=Yes

Then from Safari go to:

127.0.0.1:631/printers

Select the printer and then pick Set Default Options from the Administration drop down.
