Default wallpapers gone in iOS 16 RC ?

Where is all the default wallpapers? I just bought an iPhone 13 pro and none of the default wallpapers (the different colored lightbars) are present?

Do you guys think that they will include those in the update today? That they are on the server and can be downloaded or something?

Thanks, but I know where to get the wallpapers. But then I won’t get the auto dark mode versions. Where is the default wallpapers on the phone? Have they removed all of it?
 
I wanted the default ios16 wallpaper but it doesn’t seem to have a dark mode version of it?

They'll probably add them again since live wallpapers have been a legacy wallpaper for each iPhone iteration.

This is actually it. Who’s thinking of this!?!! I mean adjustable Lock Screen is cool and all but we need an access to original wallpaper.
There should be another button down here for “Original Wallpaper” & it will solve everything. Why does Apple NOT give us this is absurd and inexplicable.

and the guy above is right. Downloaded wallpaper won’t give us auto dark mode.

This is weird since on the iPadOS beta it WAS possible to download old wallpapers from Apple. Under Settings / Wallpaper I can select New / Stills and see an array of wallpapers going right back to those originating when my iPad Pro 10.5 was released. Each wallpaper has a download button. I had tried this in the past but today the Download buttons no longer work. Definitely a change of direction by Apple. But why?
 
Prior iOS16, all wallpapers were just static images. With the new lockscreen in iOS16, these images are more like animation videos rendered in real time. Thats why they don't include those old wallpapers, they had to rework every single wallpaper with a proper animation rendered in real time.

iPads doesn't get the new lockscreen, all wallpapers are static images like before on ipads. They are just images you can extract from firmware.

Does the standard iOS16 wallpaper on ipads have a dark mode wallpaper?

The iPhone 13 Pro special exclusive live wallpapers (automatic light and dark mode variant), the neon light sticks wallpapers, I only kept mine on my 13 Pro on iOS 16 (the one that automatically switches between light and dark mode appearances) because it was my wallpaper at the time of updating. And ONLY the blue one. It’s kept in my list of lock screens as the first one. Just to repeat; this wallpaper still alternates in appearance when my phone automatically moves between light and dark mode, but to give me the middle finger, Apple says no Lock Screen customisation is allowed on this wallpaper like are you serious? Be punished for keeping a wallpaper they don’t want you to have?

The other colours from this family of wallpaper are nowhere to be found anymore - really disappointing. Thankfully the one I have matches my Sierra Blue phone and also thankfully I can also select it at any time I want

In other words, if you haven’t updated to iOS 16 yet, make sure you update with a dark mode wallpaper set - you’ll keep it after the update is done. You just can’t add widgets

Guys, they removed the wallpapers that we’ve all gotten used to over the years. It’s called innovation, duh!
 
Absolutely ridiculous - the new wallpapers are just ugly, I wanted to keep my old ones but only add widgets to it - sorry no can do 🤬

I still hope, that they will return at least exclusive to each iPhone wallpapers with ability to add widgets. But, looks like they're not going to.

If you download the wallpapers someone posted here and set them manually, it won't change in either mode.

There is only way to change them according to the light or dark mode, that I found really simple.
So:
Firstly create a photo shuffle, select required light and dark versions of the same wallpaper, then set change of them “On tap”.

Won't that change everytime you tap to wake?
