Hi,

I have a mid-2007 iMac that doesn't work anymore. The hard drive is dead and the on/off button is dodgy as it fell off and only works with a lot of persuasion. I have since bought a new Mac Mini which I love, but don't know what to do with the old iMac? I thought about getting the dead drive replaced with a flash drive and if the button can be fixed then it would all work fine again.

Is it worth trying to sell it?

Cost for a new hdd is not that expensive, the power button however you should get a quote from a apple repair shop or apple it self and than justify the cost and see if it is worth it for you. If its not that expensive i'd say fix it and resell if you think you aren't going to use it. Easier to sell something that doesn't have a defect or problem, hey you might get more for it when you resell and make your money back fixing the machine.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I think I will get a SSD drive put in and then install Windows on it and use it for that for the time being.
