I noticed that my iPad has a slight defect in the rubber seal
like a dip and a little tear
I'm not too bothered about it, but I was wondering if its a common problem

my iPhone camera is too crap to show the defect

yes there has been many posts and many threads (including one i created about 4 days after ipad came out). It is no big deal as long as the screen doesn't fall out.

my apologies, I didn't do a search

no worries and to the poster above you, i didn't notice it either till i was admiring my un-cased iPad for a little to long one day. Now i have the apple case on it and haven't noticed it since. It is really minor and only noticed by us who are anal about keeping our apple stuff at perfection.

I'm worried now. I'll check it later!

I also noticed that on one iPad when trying to install a screen protector under a very bright LED light. And I doubt if you would notice it under normal condition, unless you know where to look for it.

It is very minor and you shouldn't worry about too much.

I guess what happens is the rubber was pinched in with a bit too much force and the rubber seal is stressed at one point.

For my particular iPAd, after I tried to use a damp, soft microfiber cloth to lightly rub it, it seems the stress on the rubber seems gone to the point where you barely see the imperfection.

Rubber proturding

Just got my iPad 3G 5 days ago, just noticed it. Seems to be more people with the same rubber bezel issues, no problems though, just a little annoying is all.
