Hi!
I have six 8GB memory modules in my Mac Pro 5,1 (banks 1-3 and 5-7). After having experienced frequent kernel panics recently, I have looked at System Profiler and noticed that bank 1 shows as empty. So I have swapped the modules in bank 1 and 2, and it still shows bank 1 as empty. Does that mean that the bank is defective? Can I use 4 and 8 instead of 1 and 5?

I'm using this machine with OCLP and Monterey, although I don't think it's relevant.
Does anybody have any hints what else I could check?
Thanks in advance!

Try a RTC reset (look up the service manual) - removing the CMOS battery or pressing the reset button on the motherboard near it. I've solved a RAM bank showing up empty with it.
