I was wondering what happens to the corrupted files my antivirus program finds (Clamxav)/(VirusBarrier X5) when it puts it in quarantine. I don't no what it means when the files are put in "quarantine". Every antivirus program that i have had has this feature and i am just looking for a proper definition that i can put to mind.

Essentially, it means that the corrupted and/or infected files are being placed into a specific folder that the anti-virus program may have made. This is just to make it easier to find on a computer. Also gives you a chance to locate the files and delete them if the program didn't already give you that choice.

It also prevents the files from further infecting the operating system.

You should only be running one virus program. Running two anti virus programs is not a good idea at all because one may conflict with the other. Going by what you said you have two A/V programs on your computer unless I am reading it wrong.
