I'm working on a project in which I have 10 seconds of a composite screen featuring roughly 30 clips in a mosaic pattern. Created it in Motion and it looks great. Export it and it looks great. Import it into FCP and...it looks like crap - lot of pixillation, especially on the edges.

Below is what the image looks like out of Motion:

And here's what it looks like when I import it into FCP, render it and export it so I can compress it for DVDSP:

After several hours trying various ideas, I've run out.

The Motion project was created as a DV/NTSC and then set to Anamorphic. I have tried it as both Broadcast and 'regular.' I've tried the Motion Samples at the default and maxed it out. I've exported it as AppleProRes, DV and Animation. I've even created a 'hi-def' version and imported it/rendered it into FCP to see if that would improve things (it didn't).

All of the clips are shot with the same camera and are the same rates. Frame rate on the motion project matches the clips (29.97). Field is Lower.

As I said, the export looks fine when played in Quicktime. And it looks fine when I take it directly into DVD Studio Pro (unfortunately it's part of a 2 minute clip I'm making so that doesn't do me much good).

When I import it into FCP it looks muddy, which I took to be par for the course and figured it would look full resolution when I exported it. But nope...

I've rendered it a variety of ways - playing with the settings (best, normal, etc). I've dropped the clip into a new sequence and pasted the other footage around it.

I've run out of ideas and would love some new ones...
