Delay before options available when phone ringing

When my phone rings, there is a 4-5 second delay before the options (keypad, etc) become available after I answer.

My job relies on a system where I need to access the keypad immediately at times. Is there any way to make it so that the options are not delayed, do you know what is causing this if it is an issue, or is there a way to make the keypad come up by default when a call is answered?

Thanks for any info. This seems to be something relatively recent, with it becoming worse and worse as time goes on.
