Every time I quit Safari (not just closing the window, but actually quitting) the Adblock extension for Safari doesn't work immediately. It takes an hour or so before the ads it blocks to actually begin being blocked.

Has anyone else experienced this? Why does it do this?

I uninstalled the extension from Safari, then quit. Then installed the Adblock version you linked me to and now I cannot tell if it's installed. Ads are still showing up, so I installed it a second time. Nothing shows up in Safari Preferences or under Help --> Installed plug-ins for this.

Safari Block seems to have been removed from the site you linked to.

If it's installed properly, it shows up as another tab in your Safari Preferences:

I fixed the link.

That's kinda what I thought it should do. It's not there, so I will have to keep working at it.

Thanks!

I run both, but I use SafariBlock more for custom blocking specific elements on web pages, since it has a right-click menu option:
