I just updated my main Mac to Tahoe and noticed that all menus now show up after some kind of a brief animated delay. It affects all menus everywhere, including contextual menus.
It's especially evident on menus with a large number of items.
I witness this on two Macs. On previous systems, menus showed up instantly.
There's little doubt that this was done intentionally. Apple's UX designers never run out of ideas to do something idiotic. I guess someone thought this kind of effect must be "cool." Now the Mac feels like some kind of underpowered antique machine with low memory that's unable to draw menus instantly.
