Delayed Notifications in Watch OS 8

I've held off on updating to Watch OS 8 based primarily on the fact that some people are experiencing delayed notifications (texts, etc). I havne't seen any activity in that thread in a while & after re-reading it, it looks like there are only a handful of people who have posted there. I'm curious how widespread the issue is.
I'd like to upgrade to 8, but notifications is one of my primary uses of the watch, so what hoping to get a feel for how widespread this issue is,

Sorry, I tried to do my first poll on this thread, but it didn't work. I was hoping to see how had issues & who didn't.
