Delete Duplicate Files/Clean Up Hard Drive

Is there a way to delete duplicate files from my hard drive? I've noticed I have a few of my things in different spots and would really like to clean it up.

Also, I've noticed files from software I have deleted still on the drive. That is one thing I've never liked, I never feel I've removed everything by just putting something in the recycle bin. Today I found a file for something I deleted a couple weeks ago. Any tips on this?

There's no safe and effective app for deleting duplicates. Unfortunately, the manual method is most effective.

Bah, so I guess there is no software to go through and look for rembrandts of already removed apps.
