Delete icon in launchpad

I downloaded Dropbox, would not work, then tried to delete app but the icon for it stays on launchpad and can not delete, how can I delete the icon, already tried the wiggle and X, didn't work
Also lost library folder in my home folder, how would I get it back?

If you delete the desired .app file in your Applications folder, the icon will no longer be present in Launchpad.

How did you "lose" your library folder? If you accidentally moved it, you should be able to find it and move it back. If you deleted it ... you will have to restore it from your backup disk ... you do keep a backup disk don't you???
