Delete iTunes library. Does it delete from HDD?

If I select all the songs in my itunes and delete, will they be deleted from my hard drive too?

I currently have all my music on a network drive, but want to copy the music to my Air SSD. I think then the itunes would have 'duplicate' items right? So, was planning to delete all the songs from itunes, copy the music folder from my network drive to local drive, and add the folder to itunes again.

Is this the correct way of doing it?

When you delete songs from iTunes, it doesn't delete the files, unless it asks first.

Use Tunespan to change the location of the files in your itune library - I use it to keep music on the Air, but most video on an external drive.
