On my pre-unibody, 2.53, 15" Macbook Pro, I have lost the functionality of my delete key and single-double quotes key. I first noticed the problem after upgrading to 10.6.2 and going into sleep for the first time, the next morning neither of these keys worked.
I have already tried another clean install of snow leopard, checking accessibility options for the mouse gestures setting, and checking keyboard settings.
I got both keys functioning again after I reinstalled 10.6 SL but after I slept over night and came back both keys were disabled again, so this rules out 10.6.2.
Also, I would like to mention there was this one time after turning off the screen saver to watch a movie, so the macbook would not sleep, the keys were working again magically after I was done with the movie, but then after over night sleep they went away again.
Does anyone know how to reset the keyboard, what is going on with my macbook pro, or what is happening? I have AppleCare on this mac so if no one knows the solution to my key problem, I might just end up calling them or going to an apple store. Thanks for any help.
BTW, posting this on my work PC because typing without a delete key is a painful exercise.
