Delete key on keyboard not working only in Gmail

When I type up emails in gmail the 'delete' key (backspace) does not work. Does anyone have any ideas?

Delete key not working in web based email

I am having the same problem in my web based email program. The delete key seems to be working in all other programs. Did you have any luck figuring out the issue?
