Here(-ish)
All,
I searched to no avail, so here I am...

I know that Apple made changes and reverted back from those changes regarding using the "delete" key for going back while navigating, and this is NOT about that.

I simply want to be able to use my "delete" key to delete typos in web forms/windows. I do a lot of product reviews and my wife is taking online class, and to not be able to use the "delete" key to actually DELETE is maddening. Is there no way to enable this???

And yes, I know that I can hold down "shift" and then delete, but why the world is this necessary?

Please help a brother out,
Will

After MUCH digging, I FINALLY stumbled upon the issue: ClickToFlash extension. By default, one of the keyboard shortcuts was to use the "delete" key to enable flash on a page, so the normal OSX function of delete was being overridden on web pages & forms.

I'll leave this thread up and mark as "resolved" in case anyone in the future runs into a similar issue.
