Delete shared photo library in iOS 16.1 ??

I shared my whole photo library with my wife, about 5000 pics and videos. After my wife agreed and shared here (around 10k pics) , I see her library mixed with my. If I switch to my private library, there are around 140 pic but not my old library. I don't understand why this 140 pics are private and the other 4860 not. But anyway. What happens if I delete the shared library; try to go back to my only private library? Do I get all my pics back? I mean, right now I have only 140 pics in my private lib.

Has anyone experience with this?

That's working as designed. You are moving your pictures to the shared library, not just a reference to them as you would do with an Album. The 140 pics are those that you didn't move to the shared library. By all means DO NOT DELETE the shared library before moving your pictures back to your private library.

I shared library with my wife and it jumped my icloud photos space from 150GB to 200+ GB but I only had 200GB plan so my syncing stopped. I deleted shared library and everything reverted back to normal as before. No photos lost.

Yeah, I’m having the same issue here. Found this thread while I was about to create my own. It’s very confusing and nothing adds up. I was under the assumption that my personal library would still be as it always was and still contain every photo I had before but it’s showing barely a fraction of that. Most of my pre iCloud Shared photo albums are blank and many are just gone from the recents/total.

If my wife and I shared ALL of our photos, shouldn’t “Both Libraries” and “Shared Library” should be equal and my “Personal Library” had my originals. Def not the case. Only thing I see here is “Both Libraries” contains all our combined photos but doesn’t equal “Shared Library” and I don’t know what the heck is going on with my “Personal Library.”

Just want to revert back to the way it used to be. What’s the best way? Remove my wife from the Shared Library then Delete or just Delete? We both have very important photos that can’t be lost forever.
