Delete user account or reformat?

I want to lend my imac to my uncle until I find buyer for it. Before I take it to him I want to get my files off. I dont want to reformat it if I dont have to. Can I delete my user account and just add a new one for him? Will that remove all my data? will that leave Microsoft office?

It will, but why not just change the permissions so your uncle can't access your stuff?

If you have FileVault2 enabled and delete that User Account nobody can recover it.

I no longer need my files on there at all since Im using my mbpr and have the imac on craigslist for sale.

Why not re-format then? As long as you have the MS Ofice DVD's or install codes you can give him a clean Mac.

Just trying to keep it quick and simple, if possible. Instead of re-downloading updates and installing apps.
